Biden to revisit city


The Carson City Democratic Central Committee has announced the Jefferson-Jackson presidential candidate series. The public is welcome to meet presidential candidates in Carson City. The first event is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Silver Oak Golf Club with presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden, of Delaware.


Cost of the event is $20 per person and is a fundraiser for the Carson City Democratic Central Committee. For reservations or information, visit www.carsoncitydems.org or call Carson City Democratic Headquarters at 841-3367.


DAV to meet tonight


The Disabled American Veterans chapter No. 7 of Carson City will meet 6 p.m. today at the Veterans Hall in Carson City, corner of Second and Curry streets. The potluck meal begins at 6 p.m. with the meeting at 7. Call 885-7351.


BLM postpones Women's History Month program


The Bureau of Land Management Carson City Field Office has postponed the program with Nevada Supreme Court Justice Nancy M. Saitta until further notice. Justice Saitta was the guest speaker for the Women's History Month program. Call 885-6112.


ESL workshop Saturday


Tutors are needed to attend a free workshop in tutoring English as a Second Language from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Library, 900 N. Roop St., in the auditorium. Parks and Recreation Commission meets today


The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.


Projects for the upcoming fiscal year and possible recommendation of landscape maintenance district ordinance are scheduled subjects.

There will be a free Master Gardener workshop entitled "Houseplant Heaven," designed to help properly care for houseplants, at 6:30 p.m. today at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno.
