A funeral for David L. Costa, 62, a 41-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.
Mr. Costa died March 18, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1945, in Reno, to John Costa and Ida Lindo.
He worked for United Coin for 15 years. Prior to that he was the state traffic manager for the Nevada Army National Guard for 22 years.
He married Linda Warren on June 25, 1966, in Reno.
He coached Little League and girls softball, was actively involved in the Junior Bowling Program, was an honorary Life Member of the United States Bowling Congress, had served as secretary of the Men's Bowling Association for 20 years, and was past president of both the local and state FOE.
He enjoyed working with kids, sports, the UNR Wolf Pack, St. Louis Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers games.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and BY father in 1991.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Melissa Costa of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Ronda and Dave Lethcoe of Carson City; sisters and brothers-in-law Dolores and Gary Oberg of Fernley and Donna and Jim Hunt of Elko; sister Dora Costa of Bend, Ore.; stepmother Filomena Costa of Fernley; three grandsons and numerous extended family members.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory. Burial will take place at the Churchill County Cemetery.
