A memorial service for Arthur Milo Newhard, 86, a Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Newhard died March 18, 2007, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Maxwell, Iowa, to Milo Dellmer and Mary Newhard.
He married Eleanor Newhard of Carson City on April 21, 1941.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Newhard lived in Southern California.
He attended Banning High School in Wilmington, Calif., and moved to California during the Great Depression.
He was a real estate and insurance salesman, and won many top honors for sales.
He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving tours at Guadalcanal and in the South Pacific.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling around Mexico.
Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; son Gregg Newhard; daughter Lynda Newhard; sister Margie Gilpin and two grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
