A Carson City man was arrested Monday night in connection with a shooting on Hot Springs Road last week.

Frank Gomez, 24, is being held in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm into a vehicle and discharging a firearm within city limits.

On March 13 a gunman fired at least three shots at a vehicle on Hot Springs Road near the Crestview Mobile Home Park just before 3 p.m. One of the bullets entered the driver's door just below the side-view mirror. No one was injured.

An off-duty Carson City deputy who happened to be driving by at the time of the shooting and the intended victim of the shooting were both allegedly able to identify Gomez from a photo lineup.

On Monday night, as another off-duty Carson City deputy was eating a meal at a Douglas County restaurant, he spotted Gomez inside dining.

Gomez was arrested at 7:55 p.m. without incident, according to the arrest report.

According to Detective Dave Legros, the shooting is gang related.
