Carson-Douglas is strong in rodeo

The Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club had several impressive efforts at the Nevada High School Rodeo Association event this past weekend in Yerington.

Cory Hershkowitz scored 67 to take second in bareback riding in Sunday's go-round. Also on Sunday, Elyse Heberger was sixth in pole bending, finishing in 21.6 seconds and took fifth in goat tying on Saturday, finishing in 9.1 seconds. Also on Sunday, Byron Kreck was third in boys cutting with 102.60 points.

In addtion, Alyce Cugler was fourth on Saturday in girls cutting with 79.80points and tied for fifth in girls cutting on Sunday. Next up is the Fallon Rodeo this weekend.

Local middle school wrestlers do well

Carson Middle School wrestlers had a strong showing at the recent Zone Championships. The top four advanced to this weekend's Tah-Nevada State Championships in Yerington. Top local finishers who advanced included:
