A memorial service for Edythmae Grace Perkins, 92, a 47-year Carson City resident will be 3 p.m. Saturday at her daughter Penny's home.

Mrs. Perkins died March 15, 2007, at her home. She was born in Chicago to Otto Hentschel and Edith V. Peterson. She married Eldon "Perk" Perkins on Jan. 20, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo.

She attended Northwestern University, and owned "Perkins Knit Shop" on South Carson Street.

She was the Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Argenta Chapter No. 7 in Virginia City.

She was preceded in death by brother William Hentschel, and daughter Donna Mae Perkins.

Among her survivors are her husband; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Mary Perkins of Sparks; daughter and son-in-law Penny and Jerry Kelley of Carson City; sister Carol Macdonald; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Fund.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
