A funeral for Betty E. Davenport, 80, an eight-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church.

A visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Davenport died May 3, 2007, in Carson City. She was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Worland, Wyo., to Charles Gay and Vesta Pulliam Gay.

She married Jim Davenport on Dec. 29, 1950, in Richmond, Va.

Mrs. Davenport lived in Worland for 51 years, and in Billings, Mont., before moving to Carson City.

She retired from her family's farm after 27 years.

She enjoyed being her former church's organist, singing in the church choir and serving as a deacon.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill Gay and sister Pat Elleman.

Among her survivors are her husband, of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl and Merle Kleinschmidt of Benicia, Calif. and Cori and Rick Goulson of Las Vegas; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Monica Davenport of Spring Hill, Tenn.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
