A graveside service for Joseph Allen Molter, a 13-year-old Eagle Valley Middle School student who died after collapsing on the track field last week, has been scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Lone Mountain Cemetery. A memorial service will be Wednesday night at Hilltop Community Church.

Outreach Pastor Don Baumann said the memorial will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, 3616 N. Sunridge Drive in Indian Hills. Refreshments will be served following the service and attendees will be invited to write notes to Joe's family about him.

A viewing was held for Joe on Monday night.

Everyone is welcomed to both memorials.

The popular Carson City eighth grader was taking part in his first competition, in his first year on the track team, when he collapsed Thursday during a meet at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School in Douglas County. He was transported to a Reno hospital by helicopter, but did not survive.

A cause of death has not been determined at this time.
