A memorial service for William Ernest Holbert, 39, a Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Airport Road Church of Christ, with the Rev. Bruce Henderson officiating.

A fellowship reception will follow at Autumn Funerals & Cremations.

Mr. Holbert died May 13, 2007. He was born on Nov. 5, 1967, in Great Falls, Mont., to William E. and Linda L. Smith Holbert.

He grew up and attended schools in Tucson, Ariz.

He married Christine Hubbell on Aug. 12, 1988, in Tucson.

Mr. Holbert worked as a manager for many different fast-food restaurants. After moving to Las Vegas, he worked in the casino food and beverage industry for six years, then moved to Carson City where he worked for Harrah's Lake Tahoe for one year, the Horseshoe Club for more than a year and then the Crystal Bay Casino. He then worked for Food Sales West as a broker.

His hobbies included all sports; especially car racing, football and basketball.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2001.

Among his survivors are his wife; sons William Andrew and Timothy Edward Holbert; daughter Amber Leigh-Ann Holbert all of Carson City; father; brother James and sister Laura Harder, all of Tucson and many nieces and nephews.

Autumn Funerals & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
