"Exhilaration!" is this year's recital/revival for Positive Energy, acrobatics and dance studio.


The performance will be 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Brewery Arts Center, Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. Tickets: $10 adults, $5 children ages 5-12 and seniors 65+, children under 5 are free.


Yard sale to benefit Carson Advocates for Cancer Care


Carson Advocates for Cancer Care is holding a yard sale 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 26 at the Evergreen Center parking lot, 1802 N. Carson St.


Donations are currently being accepted: Books, furniture, household items and collectibles are being sought. No clothing or large appliances, please. All donations are tax deductible.

High school marching band to host summer clinic


The CHS Blue Thunder Marching Band will host its first "Sounds of Summer" program, available to all band students entering the fifth through eighth grades this fall.


It offers one-on-one tutoring, marching, music, mentoring, lunch and a T-shirt. The program is available June 14, 16, 21, 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Carson High School band room.

Tribe offers free summer food service for youth


The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California will sponsor a summer food service program. Free lunches and snacks will be served to all children ages 1 through 18 years. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, gender or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.


The program will run June 18 through Aug., 17 and lunch will be served from noon-1 p.m. excluding holidays.

4-H Camp seeks volunteer chaperones


The 4-H Nevada Cooperative Extension is looking for adult chaperones for Lake Tahoe's 4-H Camp on July 8-14.


They need adult male chaperones so they can accept more children to enjoy this educational camp. For more information, call Sarah Chvilicek at 784-4848.


College credit is available for chaperones.
