A memorial service for Elsie "Denny" Parkerson, 64, a Carson City resident for the past 42 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parkerson died May 18, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Yuba City, Calif., to William and Mammie Anderson.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Yakima, Wash.
She married Robert E. Parkerson on Oct. 1, 1967. They divorced June 15, 1995.
She graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima.
Mrs. Parkerson retired from the State of Nevada, Department of Prisons. She worked in the keno department of the Ormsby House for 20 years.
She was president of Mothers Baseball Association and team mom to many baseball teams. She enjoyed her family, cooking, playing FreeCell on her computer and watching "Paula Deen" and "Ellen."
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Donny, brother John Vanloon, sister Murial McDonald and best friend Donna Nuckolls.
Among her survivors are her ex-husband of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Bob and Jennifer Parkerson; two grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
