Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will be in Carson City this morning for a drink at Comma Coffee and two private events before leaving for a rally in Reno later today.

It is rumored the Illinois senator will stop by Comma Coffee before meeting with state Democrats at the Legislative Building. The other event is a breakfast at a private home in west Carson City.

Gates for the Reno rally open at noon at the Wingfield Park Amphitheater, First Street and Arlington Avenue.

Obama will head to Las Vegas on Friday.

Obama was absent among the Democratic presidential candidates in town Feb. 21 for a presidential candidate forum.

Candidates who included that forum on their campaign tour were: New York Sen. Hillary Clinton; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; former vice presidential candidate John Edwards; Pennsylvania Sen. Joseph Biden, Maurice Robert Gravel, a former U.S. senator from Alaska; Dennis Kucinich, of Cleveland; and U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd, of Connecticut.
