CTRMC offers health screenings
Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare hosts a Community HealthCheck Fair featuring affordable lab screenings at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on the second Tuesday of each month. Doctor's orders are not required.

Scrapbooking class offered at center

The Capital Nevada Toastmasters meet at noon every Tuesday at B'Sghetti's, 318 N. Carson St.

Learn ballroom dancing at center
The Ballroom Dance Class taught by Thane Cornell meets 10:45 a.m. Wednesdays in the Nevada Room at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. Learn to waltz, fox-trot and tango for a $5 fee. All ages are welcome. Call 883-0539.
November Jazz at Comma Coffee
Enjoy big-band music featuring Mile High Jazz Band with vocalist Jakki Ford from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St. Tickets are $5 at the door; $4 for members of the Mile High Jazz Band Assoc., free for those age 18 and under. Swing-dance instruction, 6-7:30 p.m., is $5 additional.

Community flu-shot clinic Tuesday
A flu-shot clinic is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Minden Medical Center, 925 Ironwood Drive. Flu clinics are open to everyone and no appointments are necessary. The cost for a flu shot is $25.00. Medicare Part B patients have no charge, but bring your card.

Landscaping workshop focuses on water conservation
The Cooperative Extension hosts a workshop for landscapers, contractors and interested parties titled "Harvesting Water in the Landscape: Implementing Low Impact Development," 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday at the Associate General Contractors' Conference Room, 5400 Mill St., Reno.
