Big horn players sought for concert


Area tuba, baritone and euphonium players are invited to participate in Tuba Christmas 2007.


The concert will be performed at the Wilbur D. May Museum at Rancho San Rafael Park on Dec. 15. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by rehearsal at 1 p.m., and the concert at 3.


The concert consist of Christmas carols arranged in four-part harmony to be played by tubas, baritones and euphoniums.

School donates more than 2,500 cans of food to FISH


Bethlehem Lutheran School contributed 2,741 cans in October's Trick or Treat for FISH that averages 15 cans per students. Students in fifth through eighth grades are volunteering their time to sort cans at FISH to help them get ready for the busy holiday season.

Annual enrollment for the 2008 Silver Saver ground ambulance membership program for Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority is now underway for Washoe County residents.


The membership program protects households against out-of-pocket costs such as deductibles and co-payments that may not be covered by your insurance policy, Medicare, or other health benefits for medically necessary paramedic ambulance services from REMSA.


Full household memberships may now be purchased for $59 until Dec. 31. Silver Saver applications are being mailed to those who have used REMSA's services over the past year and also are available by calling 858-5757.

'Babyface' Edmonds at Ascuaga's Nugget


Chances are, if it was a hit during the entire decade of the 1990s, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds had something to do with it.


With 10 Grammy Awards, Edmonds has cemented his place in music history. He appears in support of his latest album, "Playlist," Saturday in the Rose Ballroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget.


He is the recipient of numerous awards including "Soul Train Music Award," "BMI Award," "NAACP Image Award," and "American Music Award."

Country singer Tracy Lawrence at MontBleu


Country music star Tracy Lawrence will appear at the MontBleu Casino in Stateline 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $35 plus tax at 588-3515.


Lawrence won the top new male vocalist award in 1993 and has had 17 No. 1 hits and most recently released "Find Out Who Your Friends Are," which was No. 1 on the play lists.
