Maupin honored nationally

Galena High's Eric Maupin has been one of 60 players to be named to the 2007 EA Sports All-American Baseball Team as chosen by StudentSportsBaseball.com.

Maupin was one of 30 players chosen to the second-team as a multi-purpose player. Thirty players were also named to the first team. The team is chosen by editors of Student Sports, a national publication that covers high school sports. Players selected to the team are honored for both their achievements on and off the field.

This past season with Galena, Maupin was a two-way player, posting an 11-0 record with a 0.97 earned run average on the mound. He was also a starting infielder when he didn't pitch .

Maupin is now a freshman at Washington State where he could continue to be used as a two-way player.
