Yerington Hotel to be demolished

The Yerington Hotel at West and Virginia Streets in Yerington will be demolished by the end of November.

The property was purchased in September for $135,000 by the adjacent Holy Family Catholic Church, which will tear down of the 101-year-old hotel to create more parking space for the church. A duplex behind the building will be used for office space.

The church will try and sell doors, windows and other items from the hotel before it is damaged. Call 775-463-2882 for more information.
