Florence Christensen, 93, a resident of Carson City since 1996, having previously lived in Sparks, passed away peacefully on the evening of Oct. 23, 2007. She had lived at Carson Convalescent Center for the past eleven months.

Florence was born to Carl and Katrina Koch on Jan. 1, 1914 in Bellingham, Washington. She was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters.

Kindly, cheerful, and always optimistic Florence enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and fishing. After Art passed away, she spent many years as a volunteer with Nevada Services to the Blind and RSVP.

She will be deeply missed by her beloved cat Mac; sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Carol Christensen of Washoe Valley, Jim and Debra Christensen of Reno; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Mike Ball of Carson Valley; grandsons Kurt (Daonne) Christensen of Reno, Jay Christensen of Georgia; granddaughter Kim (Nels) Larsen of Arizona; great-granddaughter Mia Paloma Christensen of Georgia; niece Nadine (Jerry) Westby of Bellingham; and extended family members.

At her request, there will be no services.
