Ava Knowlton

Ava Knowlton, 81, a long-time resident of Carson City, passed away October 27,2007, in her home surrounded by her family.

Ava (Huss) was born in Bayard, Iowa, on May 19, 1926. She married Darrell Knowlton on January 11,1944, in Los Angeles, CA. They lived in Iowa, Arizona, and Bishop, CA, before moving to Carson City in 1969. Ava has been active in the First Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, and the Carson City Garden Club. She and Darrell enjoyed square dancing and camping with the Silver Sage Good Sam Club. She served as a volunteer at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, working in the dinning room and gift shop, and sang with the Singing Seniors.

Ava was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell. She is survived by her son, Dennis of Carson City, and daughter and son-in-law, Judi & David Kruse, of California.

Ava loved and cared for others and was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3,2007, at 11:00 am, at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ava's memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
