Elmer Bull of Yerington reported the Mourning Dove hunting season was spotty at the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area (MVWMA) near Yerington. Some hunters had easy limits while others reported tough hunting conditions with few-to-no birds.

Bull reported that he took a small hunting party out on the Opening Day, and gave the other members of the party the better shooting locations, and they did very well.

Bull said that he was in a "bad location," took 5 shots and got zero dove, which put him in the "tough hunting conditions" group.
