Soldier from Las Vegas dead in Iraq

LAS VEGAS (AP) " A soldier from Nevada has been killed in Iraq, the military said.

Army Spc. Travis M. Virgadamo, 19, of Las Vegas, died Aug. 30 in Taji, Iraq, in a non-combat related incident, the Defense Department said in a statement released Monday. The circumstances surrounding his death were under investigation.

Virgadamo was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, based in Fort Stewart, Ga.

He was at least the 32nd service member from or with ties to Nevada killed in Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
