A brush fire burning near the Sierra Quarry in Lockwood was kept to two-and-a-half-acres Monday afternoon.
Three engines from Storey County and one engine from the Nevada Division of Forestry contained the blaze by 5 p.m. Air support came from the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center in Minden, said Storey County Division Chief Eric Guevin.
The fire that began at about 2:30 p.m. Monday is likely human caused. No structures were threatened.
