One dead in fight at Reno restaurant

RENO " One man was killed and another was arrested after a weekend shooting and stabbing outside a Reno restaurant.

Police identified the dead man as Steven Cordova, 26, of Stockton, Calif.,

According to investigators, Cordova, Ian Perkins, 32, of East Palo Alto, Calif., and others met at a Denny's restaurant on Wells Avenue early Saturday when an argument broke out and continued in the parking lot.

Perkins was stabbed and Cordova and two others who tried to help him were shot.

All three shooting victims were taken to a hospital, where Cordova died. The other two were treated and released, police said.

Authorities said Perkins was found at a local motel. He was treated at a hospital for multiple stab wounds, and then booked for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and an outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrant.

An investigation continued Monday.
