A graveside service for Dorothy S. Barnes, 81, a 55-year resident of Minden, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Mrs. Barnes died Sept. 25, 2007, in Minden. She was born Oct. 3, 1925, to Hugh Sawyer and Carrie Wheeler Sawyer in New Hampshire. She married Darwin Barnes Aug. 24, 1985, in Sun Valley. She lived in Maine prior to moving to Minden in 1955.
She was one of the original homesteaders on Johnson Lane.
Among her survivors are her husband of Minden; son, Rick Dudley of Minden; stepson and his wife, Daniel and Kathy Barnes of Minden; stepson, Leroy Barnes of Carson City; daughters Marilyn Dudley of Hesperia, Calif., and Susan Dudley of Minden; stepdaughter, Brenda Barnes of Reno; brother, Frederick Sawyer of Arizona; sister, Elizabeth Wolfe of Chico, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Barton Hospice of the Valley.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
