Rispin medals, leads Carson golf

Behind the strong play of Zack Rispin and Jonathan Singer, the Carson High School golf team won its first league tournament of the year Monday at Sierra Sage Golf Course.
Rispin, who tied with Damonte Ranch's C.J. Gibson as the tournament's medalist, shot a 72 and Singer posted a 76 as the Senators finished with a team score of 395.
The second-place Mustangs shot a 412, followed by Douglas (413), South Tahoe (421), Reno (426), Wooster (447), North Valleys (506) and Hug (563).
Carson's Isaac Holt, Sam Staub and Jordan Rogers each finished with an 82. Ryan Livermore shot an 84.
Douglas' Thomas Wicker finished third with a 73, followed by South Tahoe's Mazzoni (75) and Singer.
Carson, which has two second-place finishes under its belt this year, will next play on Tuesday at Washoe County Golf Course in another Sierra League tournament.
