Capital Ford earned Ford Motor's Company's President's Award. The award honors those who have given exceptional customer service. Only 340 of nearly 5,000 dealerships were selected. Capital Ford was the only dealership recognized in Northern Nevada.

Dynamic Isolations Systems (DIS) has moved from Sparks and is now in operation in its new larger facility at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

DIS is an international company launched in 1982 that specializes in developing structural products for business to protect their assets from earthquakes. It analyzes and supplies seismic isolation and energy dissipation technologies in buildings, bridges and large industrial equipment.

Signature Landscapes and Reno Lawn & Landscape broke ground of their new, soon-to-be-owner-occupied office building at 3705 Barron Way. The two commercial and residential landscape firms look forward to moving their separate companies under one roof in the new 9,800-square-foot office building, with an adjacent 8,400-square-foot shop.

Western Nevada College has selected Whelen Engineering, Inc., manufacturer of high-powered outdoor mass notification products as their mass notification vendor. Whelen designs and manufactures electronic Mass Notification Voice and Tone Products for University Campus warning applications. These types of outdoor products alert and inform through voice instructions to all university students, faculty, employees and visitors, whenever an emergency situation occurs. It is the only mass notification product that works without a cell phone, computer, or any other external device.
