Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira will not seek another term in office, he said today.

The three-term mayor served from 1989 to 1996 and beat two-term Mayor Ray Masayko in 2004 in a close race.

Teixeira is the longest-serving mayor in Carson City since it incorporated with Ormsby County in 1969.

A 35-year-old podiatrist, Sean Lehmann, is the only candidate so far to announce a run for mayor this year.

Check back for updates on the mayor's decision.
