The Dayton High baseball team earned a sweep of a doubleheader against Fernley on Saturday in Northern 3A section.
Dayton rolled to a a 19-6 win in the opener and then overcame an 8-3 deficit to win 13-10 in the nightcap.
The Dust Devils scored 12 runs in the first inning on their way to the win in the opener. Brandon Aguilera pitched a complete game, striking out five and walking one. Konrad Perkins had two doubles and three RBI and Ryan Ransdell had a home run, double and five RBI.
In the nightcap, three errors in the second led to Fernley scoring five runs and help the Vaqueros take an 8-3 lead. Dayton tied the score 10-10 in the fifth and scored three runs in the sixth to take a 13-10 lead.
Cory Yoder went 4-for-4 with three RBI and was also the winning pitcher, striking out the side in both innings of relief and walking none. Tim Doyle went 1-for-2 with three RBI, Aguilera was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Perkins was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
