Don C. Gray

Don C. Gray, 79, passed away on April 11, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Gray was born August 25, 1928, to Russell and Rita Mae Gray and raised in Topanga Canyon, Calif. He graduated from Canoga Park High School, California in 1946, and often shared stories of pitching a 'no-hitter' baseball game in 1946. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in the Korean War from 1950-1952. Mr. Gray worked very hard as a plastering contractor. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, watching sports on television and playing nickels at the local casino.

Mr. Gray is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Joyce Gray, of Carson City; sister Carol Daphne Gray, of Hawaii; son Robert Gray and daughter Joi Davis of Carson City; daughter Jill Ramirez (Luis) of Vacaville, Calif.; grandchildren Scott Gray of Oregon, Josh and Danny Gray of Turlock, Calif., Shaliena Gray of New Mexico, Ryan Gray of Palm Desert, Janel Davis of Reno, Gina (Zamir) Ramirez and Anthony (Martha) Ramirez of Vacaville; great-grandchildren Legend Ryder of Oregon and Serena, Isaiah, Kayla and Hailey of Vacaville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Greg, in 2004.

At his request, there will be no formal services, and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vista Care Hospice, or your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Capital City Cremation and Burial Society.
