Proulx Bailey graduates basic training

Air Force Airman John C. Proulx Bailey has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Kathryn Bailey of Carson City, and John Bailey of Hillsboro, Ore.

Proulx Bailey is a 2006 graduate of Westview High School, Portland, Ore.

USS Columbus to hold reunion in October

U.S. Navy and Marine Corps shipmates who served on the USS Columbus CA-74/CG-12 from 1944 through 1976 and the USS Columbus (SSN-762) past and present are sought for the crews annual reunion Oct. 1-4 at the Holiday Inn North, Dayton, Ohio.
