Dayton softball rolls past Sparks

Mackenzie Cole belted three home runs and had nine RBI to help lead the Dayton High softball team to a 17-1 win over Sparks on Wednesday.

Sierra Barnwell pitched a complete game for Dayton (11-6, 10-3 in the Northern 3A) in the game that went six innings. She struck out eight and allowed five hits.

Cole hit two three-run homers, a two-run homer, scored four runs and finished with nine RBI. Brittany Hill went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs, Melissa Goetz was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, Breann DeHaven had a hit and a run, Barnwell was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Brittany Burroughs went 1-for-2, Melissa Coyle was 1-for-3 with a run, Miriah Collins was 2-for-4 with two runs and Nicole Iratcabel was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Dayton.
