Crosstumblers Gymnastics had many performers qualify for the State Championships in an inter-gym USAIGC competition the club hosted on Saturday.

The event served as a qualifier for the State Championships to be held in May. In order to qualify for the State Championships, a gymnast must attain an all-around score of 30.5 or for individual events, receive a score of at least 7.5.

At the State Championships gymnasts will look to qualify for the National Championships to be held in Florida at the end of June.

Sarah Melia, who earlier this year qualified for the State Championships in the Silver division, moved up to the Gold division for this competition and successfully qualified for state on her specialties by receiving an 8.2 on vault and 8.85 on floor exercise.

Competing in the Silver division for the first time was Hayley Canfield who earned an impressive all-around score of 35.45. Her individual event scores were also outstanding with 8.7 on vault, 8.55 on bars, 9.2 on beam and 9.0 on floor.

"Hayley performed extremely well on all four of her events," coach Steffany Walker said. "It is rare to hit on all events and to do so in a competition is quite an accomplishment. Even the judge came up after the competition to compliment her on her performance.

All five Crosstumblers Bronze level gymnasts qualified for the State Championships. Leading the Bronze team was Charlee Bradley with an all-around score of 33.0. She placed first on balance beam (9.0), uneven bars (8.2), and floor (8.2).

Kelsey Bradley also did well with an all-around score of 32.9. She placed first on vault (7.7) and beam (8.6), and tied for first on floor with teammate Abby Pradere (8.5).

Also competing were Alyssa Bradley who scored a 32.5 in the all-around and placed first on vault (8.1) and Nicki Leonard with a 30.9 in the all-around and first on bars (8.7).
