LOS ANGELES " Police say an off-duty Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy has been killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.
L.A. police Officer Jason Lee says the deputy was walking near his home in the northeast neighborhood of Cypress Park at about 5:40 a.m. Saturday when a white car drove by and shots were fired.
The deputy was hit and pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests were made.
The deputy's name hasn't been released. Lee says the deputy was not in uniform and it's unclear whether his attackers knew he was in law enforcement.
