Symphony plays 'Strings in the Summer' concert


Carson City Symphony's "Strings in the Summer," directed by Sue Kitts, appears in a free concert at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Carson Mall, 1191 S. Carson St., Carson City.

Sertoma Club selling Football Books


The Carson Sertoma Club Football Book program is now under way. By purchasing a book for $20, one gets a square for each Monday Night Football Game. Winners are based on final score and wins $50.

Auditions for 'South Pacific'


The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company will audition for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, "South Pacific", 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Sarah Winnemucca Hall, 2201 W. College Parkway.

Stagecoach Advisory Board to meet


The Stagecoach Advisory Board Meeting will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Stagecoach Community Center, next to the Stagecoach Fire Station (Cheyenne Trail and Hwy. 50). 'Death of a Doornail' extended


The dinner murder mystery theatre, Death of a Doornail, will extend its Piper's Opera House run to Monday, Aug. 11 and 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 12 and 19 because of large, enthusiastic and flourishing audiences.
