Landscape Show at Brewery Arts


The Nevada Artists Association presents its annual Landscape Show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Saturday, through Friday, Aug. 29, Brewery Arts Center Gallery, 449 W. King St. The show features 16 artists' rendition of the same landscape using a photo taken in the high Sierra by local photographer, Jackie Stroud. For information, call 882-6411.


Hot August Book Sale this weekend


Hot August Book Sale presented by the Friends of the Carson City Library, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday and Saturday 900 N. Roop St. All hardcover books will be priced at $1. Also featured will be a large assortment of craft, needlework, beading and woodworking magazines and piano and organ music. A special preview sale for members of the Friends will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday. All proceeds will benefit the Carson City library. For information, call 882-5458.
