BATTLE MOUNTAIN " A mechanical failure may have helped caused a rollover accident that killed one Battle Mountain teenager and injured three others about four miles east of Battle Mountain.

Turner Price was headed east on Frontage Road 401 just before 7 p.m. Wednesday when the 1996 Ford Explorer he was driving rotated clockwise, went into a broadside skid and overturned.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says the 17-year-old was partially ejected and killed. The three others suffered minor injuries " 14-year-old Casey Stewart and 15-year-old Daryl Raglund of Battle Mountain and 15-year-old Andrea Fagg of Fernley.

The patrol says none of the four was wearing seat belts. It says a preliminary investigation reveals a mechanical failure may have contributed to the accident but no other details have been released.
