Identities of men in fatal wreck unknown

Investigators have yet to confirm the identity of a man killed in Stagecoach yesterday, or the identity of his passenger who suffered burns over 50 percent of his body, in a fiery wreck south of the Ramsey Weeks Cutoff in Stagecoach

A Stagecoach woman injured in the crash, was treated and has since been released from the hospital, Trooper Chuck Allen of the Nevada Highway Patrol said today.

At about 3:30 p.m., a 1992 Ford Ranger with Washington plates, was eastbound on Highway 50 East when for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center line near Shirlee Avenue and Hackberry Street and collided with a 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by Toni Vick, 43, of Stagecoach.

Allen said the Ford rolled after the collision then burst in to flames, killing the driver.

Rescuers were able to pull the passenger from the wreckage and he was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. This morning the man was flown to the University of California, Davis Burn Center.

Vick was also taken by Careflight to Reno, where she was treated and released.

"We have not been able to positively identify either male subject involved in the collision," Allen said in a news release. "The vehicle has Washington plates and we are in communication with the coroner's office, as well as authorities in Washington, to learn the identities of these victims."
