Dusty Bergman, a 1996 Carson High graduate was released by the Lincoln Saltdogs of the independent American Association on Sunday.

The left-handed pitcher was picked up by Lincoln after he was released by the Sioux City Explorers also of the American Association. Bergman struggled with Sioux City, but appeared to have put it together after being picked up by Lincoln.

In his first appearance, Bergman didn't allow a run over two innings and then in his first start, Bergman allowed two runs over nine innings in picking up the complete game win. But Bergman struggled in his last two outings and ended up going 1-0 with a 4.71 earned run average, allowing 11 earned runs over 21 innings while striking out 17 and walking six.

Bergman's professional career includes having a cup of coffee at the Major League level where he made one appearance with the Angels in 2004 and also making the Triple A All-Star Game.
