MDF fund raiser at CVI scheduled for Sept. 20

The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) has scheduled its fourth annual fund raiser at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden on Sept. 20.

Tickets to attend are:

Single (one year-membership in MDF plus meal): $75.

Couple (One membership plus two meals): $85.

Meal only (membership paid): $25.

Life member meal: $25

Children under age 17: $20.

Early Bird special: Tickets received after Aug. 23 and before Sept. 10, will receive an Early Bird ticker for a print drawing.

All Early Bird orders are able to purchase general raffle ticket packages for $80, and will receive $120 in general raffle tickets.

The evening will begin with no-host cocktails at 5:00 p.m., various games of chance, viewing of auction and raffle items and visiting with friends, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m.

The live auction and raffle drawings will follow dinner, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

In 2007, the MDF funded more than $29,000 throughout Nevada in habitat restoration projects in conjunction with BLM, NDOW, and the USFS including: Hayes Canyon, Robert's Mountain Juniper/Pinion thinning and the Shantytown sagebrush re-seeding project.

MDF also provided funding for the Hunter Education Laser Shot Program in Winnemucca along with the Chukar Foundation and the Wildlife Coloring Books for Children along with Fraternity of Desert Bighorn.

The mission of the Mule Deer Foundation is to ensure the conservation of mule deer, black-tailed deer and their habitat.
