A benefit is planned for Carson City School District's Kids in Transition program, which continues to supply children within Carson City area with the essentials such as food, clothing, shoes and school supplies.

Each year, 370 to 450 children and teens in our schools do not have a permanent address. They reside in campgrounds, motel/hotel, cars, and some couch surf from one friend's house to another trying to make until they graduate.

Many live in weekly motels some even double up with friends or family trying to hold on. This benefit will raise funds for these children and to create scholarships so that they can participate in school programs and further their education.

Come support this event and lend a hand to a local child who needs you.

If you were paying attention to the first item, you'd realize we need around 400 backpacks to assist children in the area who need backpacks.

As you know, the Carson City School District Kid's in Transition program helps children in need. You can help, too, by grabbing a backpack and purchasing the educational tools to assist them.

You can also fill them up with toothbrushes and toothpaste " kids love it when they open them up and see hygiene items, like shampoos, brushes hair ribbons etc.

You can meet one of the mayor candidates, Bob Crowell who opened his office in Carson City again this year to help support this outstanding cause.

Bob's a man that knows assisting local children and giving children the chance to see a better future only makes a community stronger. Drop by a backpack and say hello.
