Reno wildfire burning buildings, reports say

RENO " Reno firefighters are converging on a brush fire that is sending up a plume of black smoke on the north edge of town.

Local television stations are reporting that some structures are on fire in a residential area that is east of U.S. Highway 395 and north of North McCarran Boulevard near Clear Acre Lane. The fire reportedly is centered on Ridgecrest Drive off of Scottsdale Boulevard.

A Reno newspaper is reporting on its Web site that as many as eight structures may have suffered damage.

Police are urging motorists to stay away from the area.
