A convicted Oregon sex offender who was once the publisher of a guide to Pacific Northwest strip clubs is wanted on several felony warrants and is being sought by Carson City deputies for failing to register here.

Sheriff's Detective Bob Motamenpour said Tuesday that Philip Reed Yoder, 56, was living and working at the Golden Dragon apartments on North Carson Street as the manager recently.

Court records indicate Yoder was arrested in 2001 on eight charges related to sexual assault. He was convicted on four charges.

Recently, Oregon issued a warrant for felony rape and probation violation against Yoder, Motamenpour said.

"The nature of the crime was pretty horrendous," said Motamenpour, who spoke last week with an Oregon official.

Motamenpour said its believed that Yoder has been in the area since 2006, but has evaded all contact with law enforcement.

Attempts through Yoder's attorney to have him surrender to authorities, failed, said Motamenpour.

Yoder is described as 6-feet-4-inches tall, weighing 270 pounds, with red hair. He wears glasses and is known to be in the company of an African American woman about 25 years old.

He's believed to be driving a white 2001 Mercury sedan with Nevada license plate 969VTF or an older model gold Mercedes Benz with body damage.

Anyone with information on Yoder's whereabouts is asked to call Motamenpour at 887-2020 ext. 41406 or call 911.
