We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son and brother Rodney "Rock" K. Sida. Rocky died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of August 17, 2008. A viewing will be 5-7 p.m., today at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Rocky had been in poor health this past year and struggled with a number of ailments. We are certain that his passing was in peace and without pain or suffering. Rocky was a true patriot who served his country as a decorated Vietnam veteran having served two tours of war duty during that conflict. Rocky had recently retired from public service with the State of Nevada. He is preceded in death by a daughter Aimee Sanborn.

Rocky is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Kamie McBride, son Shon Sida, and stepdaughters Ginnie, Becky and Charlene, his mother Lenora Sida, brothers Jim and Doc and sisters Doogie and Margie. Rocky is also survived by his many grandchildren of whom he viewed with pride and deep loving affection. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.
