Bryan Clay had a solid effort in the 110 meters to extend his lead in the decathlon. Clay finished in 13.93 seconds. Second-place Andrei Krauchanka of Belarus finished in 14.21 seconds.
Clay extended his lead over Krauchanka by 36 points. After six events, Clay leads second-place Krauchanka by 124 points.
