Charles M. "Charley" Osburn, 77, a Carson City resident for the last 10 years and former long time Reno resident, passed away August 27, 2008, in a Reno hospital after a short illness.

He was born September 23, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles Osburn and Helen Richey. He had his own radio show, "Charley O Radio Show KSRN in Reno for several years. Charley was an accomplished organist and a member of the Sierra Organ Club, the Carson Eagles Aerie, and the Park Forest American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army after graduating from high school and served in Korea and then designed laboratory equipment for Bendix Corp in California. Later he worked as a self employed Electronics Technician for Osburn Instrument Company in Sparks, Nevada. Charley was very active in the Carson Senior Center and served on the Advisory Board and sang the lead in the Senior Follies 2 years ago. He served as a County Commissioner for 4 years.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Bill and granddaughter Mary Patterson all of Park Forest, Ill.

Memorial Services will 1 p.m., Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Carson Senior Center. Inurnment will be in the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
