For the next three weeks, Little Lane between Roop Street and Saliman Road will be reduced to one lane. Work on a waterline underneath the four-block stretch of road alongside the Carson City Post Office began Thursday and runs into January.
City transportation manager Patrick Pittenge said traffic on Little Lane increased in recent months after extensive work was done on Fairview Drive. But now that Fairview Drive between Saliman Road and Roop Streets is open, motorists shouldn't suffer too greatly from the closure on Little Lane.
The two-lane road will be reduced to one lane, with traffic allowed through in each direction by flaggers.
Motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
