A coop full of fine, fat, healthy chickens to serve up for his guests during the holidays was dumped upon the sidewalk with some of its inmates escaping. Clescovich summoned his entire force, Teutonic and Oriental, to capture his live stock. The cackling of the chickens and the loud voice of the restaurant attaches attracted a large congregation of Carson street idlers, the chickens flying and running from one side of the street to the other, creating a frenzy in the breasts of horses, dogs and cats which had the misfortune of being upon Carson's principal thoroughfare. Eventually all of the chickens were caught and served up at Clescovich's during the holidays.

Carson City, Gardnerville and Minden Boy Scouts held a Pinenut Range district court of honor. Highlight of the evening was presentation of his 23d and 24th merit badges to Explorer Hubert Johnson and of a Life Explorer badge to Keith Winchester.

A time capsule was placed beneath of the steps of Nevada's Governor's Mansion that says, "Do not open until 2018." It includes a set of baseball cards, including those of Sammy Sosa and Mark Maguire, a Gia Pet, the Titanic video, a Happy Meal Box with a toy, Spice Girls CD, a key chain, a yo-yo and personal letters from the Miller family.
