Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing another near the Rand Avenue Motel Monday night.

Carson City Sheriff's Department Lt. Bob White said the 20-year-old victim was walking down the stairs at the motel when he was attacked and stabbed several times. Two women, not connected to the victim, were witness to the assault and are being questioned by police, White said.

The victim was taken by helicopter from the Carson City Airport to a Reno hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso.

Police are seeking a suspected described as wearing a black Oakland Raiders jacket with a hood, weighing 245 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes and standing 6 feet tall.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call 911.
