Suspect arrested in Monday stabbing

A 37-year-old transient who goes by the name of Nacho was arrested early Tuesday morning in the Monday night stabbing of a Carson City man.

Ignacio "Nacho" Valladares was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the Winner's Corner at Rand Avenue and Highway 50 East just before 9:30 p.m on the report that 20-year-old victim, Joshua Hayes, had been stabbed.

Hayes told police he had been stabbed multiple times in the torso as he walked in the stairwell at the Rand Avenue Motel.

Hayes was able to tell police his assailant's nickname, according to reports.

Police located Valladares in a vehicle near the Am-Pm at Carson and William streets about 2 a.m.

He is being held on $30,000 bail.
