The Explorers Club reveals details of debut album, new single

The Explorers Club have put the finishing touches on their debut album, "Freedom Wind," which will be released May 20 on CD and LP formats. Lush and undeniably catchy, "Freedom Wind" is poised to be the benchmark for pop music in 2008.

The first single from "Freedom Wind" is a tasty gem titled "Do You Love Me?" which we are pleased to share as a free MP3 " the perfect Valentine's Day pop treat. But don't mistake this as just another freebie promo track; "Do You Love Me?" is the A-side to The Explorers Club new 7-inch, which will be available on April 8. The flipside of

the single is "Carry Me" " an exclusive non-album track.

The Explorers Club will be joining their Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar and Secretly Canadian brethren on March 13 for our 11-band, two-stage SXSW showcase. Winehouse has done for R&B or Sharon Jones for funk and soul, what Antibalas have done for Afro-beat. They're reclaiming the classics as their own, injecting them with life, and making music that that transcends any era. This is how pop music is supposed to sound. Prepare yourself. Freedom Wind is the soundtrack to the summer of 2008.
