Chamber to host bowling tournament


A Leadership Bowling Tournament will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Carson Lanes, 4600 Snyder Ave.


The event is hosted by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Downtown Consortium to meet


The first meeting of the Carson City Downtown Consortium will be 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.


The group is led by the Redevelopment Authority Citizen Committee.

Carson City's Aztec Transportation sold to Bay area company


Aztec Transportation of Carson City has been sold to El Camino Trailways of South San Francisco, according to representatives from BTI Group Mergers and Acquisitions.


El Camino Trailways is listed as an INC 100 Fastest Growing Transportation Services Company for 2006. The company provides charter bus and shuttle service throughout the Northern California market.


The acquisition of Aztec Transportation will expand their operation to include Northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe and Truckee.


Aztec is based in Carson City and provides charter service to several local ski resorts in addition to operating the town of Truckee's Dial A Ride and trolley services.


El Camino Trailways now operates one of the largest Charter Bus and Shuttle Service fleets in Northern California.


Katrina Loftin and Wayne Kemmerle of BTI Group Mergers and Acquisitions in Reno represented the seller and Mike Mogin of BTI Group in San Francisco represented the buyer in the transaction.




Grant-writing seminar scheduled Thursday


Faith Sherry Lessen, J.D. presents "Successful Grant Writing Made Easy" at 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, 801 S. Carson St.


This seminar is designed for individuals who work with non-profits, government agencies, poets, artists, film makers, musicians, technology entrepreneurs, scientific researchers, anyone who would like to become more familiar with the world of grant funding.
